A sexual harassment case has been registered against DG-rank IPS officer Susanta Kumar Nath in Cuttack, Odisha, following a complaint by a former woman jailer. The state government removed Nath from his post as DG prisons on Sunday and appointed him as an officer on special duty in the Home Department. The complainant alleges that Nath, through an associate, made unwelcome advances and later targeted her after she declined his invitations. The government stated Nath's removal is to ensure a fair investigation into the allegations.

ओडिशा के कटक में डीजी-रैंक आईपीएस अधिकारी सुशांता कुमार नाथ के खिलाफ एक पूर्व महिला जेलर की शिकायत के बाद यौन उत्पीड़न का मामला दर्ज किया गया है। राज्य सरकार ने रविवार को नाथ को डीजी जेल के पद से हटा दिया और उन्हें गृह विभाग में एक विशेष ड्यूटी अधिकारी के पद पर नियुक्त किया। शिकायतकर्ता का आरोप है कि नाथ ने एक सहयोगी के माध्यम से अवांछित प्रस्ताव रखे और बाद में जब उसने उनके निमंत्रण को अस्वीकार कर दिया तो उसे निशाना बनाया। सरकार ने कहा कि आरोपों की निष्पक्ष जांच सुनिश्चित करने के लिए नाथ को हटाया गया है।
