Following criminal contempt proceedings, Raut filed an affidavit, but the court has directed him to appear in person. The court will then consider the apology and decide on further action. Raut stated he would appear before the court on the specified date. The Supreme Court Bar Association had filed the contempt petition, alleging disrespect towards the top court.

यूटीबी सांसद संजय राउत ने सीजेआई सूर्य कांत के खिलाफ की गई अपनी टिप्पणियों के संबंध में सुप्रीम कोर्ट में बिना शर्त माफी मांगी है। आपराधिक अवमानना की कार्यवाही के बाद, राउत ने एक हलफनामा दायर किया, लेकिन अदालत ने उन्हें व्यक्तिगत रूप से पेश होने का निर्देश दिया है। अदालत तब माफी पर विचार करेगी और आगे की कार्रवाई तय करेगी। राउत ने कहा कि वह निर्दिष्ट तिथि पर अदालत में पेश होंगे। सुप्रीम कोर्ट बार एसोसिएशन ने अवमानना याचिका दायर की थी, जिसमें शीर्ष अदालत के प्रति अनादर का आरोप लगाया गया था।
