The Patna High Court has reduced a man's rape conviction to indecent assault, stating that allegations without supporting medical or material evidence are insufficient to establish rape. Justice Sandeep Kumar passed the verdict while hearing an appeal by Mohammad Ainul Haq. The prosecution alleged Haq entered a woman's hut, covered her mouth, and mounted her with evil intentions. However, all witnesses except the victim turned hostile, and no medical or material evidence was produced.

पटना हाई कोर्ट ने एक आदमी की बलात्कार की सज़ा को छेड़छाड़ में बदल दिया है। कोर्ट ने कहा कि मेडिकल या अन्य सबूतों के बिना सिर्फ आरोप बलात्कार साबित करने के लिए काफी नहीं हैं। जस्टिस संदीप कुमार ने यह फैसला मोहम्मद ऐनुल हक़ की अपील पर सुनाया। अभियोजन पक्ष का आरोप था कि हक़ एक महिला की झोपड़ी में घुस गया, उसका मुंह दबाया और गलत इरादे से उसके ऊपर चढ़ गया। लेकिन, पीड़ित के अलावा सभी गवाह मुकर गए और कोई मेडिकल या अन्य सबूत पेश नहीं किया गया।
