Indian Railways has significantly expanded its high-speed track infrastructure, with the length of tracks capable of 130 kmph speeds increasing nearly five-fold from 5,036 km in 2014 to 24,173 km by early August 2026. This upgrade, achieved through extensive track renewal and maintenance, means over 80% of the network now supports speeds of 110 kmph or above. Despite this progress, overall train punctuality remains around 77%, with congestion and operational constraints posing challenges.

भारतीय रेलवे ने हाई-स्पीड ट्रैक का जाल काफी बढ़ा दिया है। 2014 में जहाँ 130 किमी प्रति घंटे की रफ्तार वाले ट्रैक सिर्फ 5,036 किमी थे, वहीं अगस्त 2026 तक यह बढ़कर 24,173 किमी हो जाएंगे। ट्रैक रिन्यूअल और मेंटेनेंस से नेटवर्क का 80% से ज़्यादा हिस्सा 110 किमी प्रति घंटे या उससे ज़्यादा की स्पीड सपोर्ट करता है। फिर भी, ट्रेनों की टाइमिंग अभी भी लगभग 77% ही है, क्योंकि भीड़ और ऑपरेशनल दिक्कतें बनी हुई हैं।
