Barmer Medical College: 80 Seniors Punished For Ragging Juniors; 14 Expelled From Hostel

Barmer Medical College in Rajasthan has taken strict action against over 80 senior students for allegedly ragging junior MBBS students. The seniors reportedly used introductions as a pretext to intimidate and mentally harass the juniors, with allegations including forced haircuts and sharing offensive content in WhatsApp groups. In response to complaints, the college administration has suspended 14 students from their hostels and barred others from academic activities for varying periods. The National Medical Commission has also sought a report from the college regarding the incident and the actions taken.

राजस्थान के बाड़मेर मेडिकल कॉलेज ने जूनियर एमबीबीएस छात्रों को कथित तौर पर रैगिंग करने के लिए 80 से अधिक सीनियर छात्रों के खिलाफ सख्त कार्रवाई की है। सीनियर छात्रों ने कथित तौर पर जूनियर छात्रों को डराने और मानसिक रूप से परेशान करने के लिए परिचय का बहाना बनाया, जिसमें व्हाट्सएप ग्रुपों में जबरन बाल कटवाने और आपत्तिजनक सामग्री साझा करने के आरोप शामिल हैं। शिकायतों के जवाब में, कॉलेज प्रशासन ने 14 छात्रों को उनके हॉस्टल से निलंबित कर दिया है और अन्य को विभिन्न अवधियों के लिए शैक्षणिक गतिविधियों से प्रतिबंधित कर दिया है। नेशनल मेडिकल कमीशन ने भी इस घटना और की गई कार्रवाई के संबंध में कॉलेज से रिपोर्ट मांगी है।
