Thousands were subjected to verification, forcing daily wage earners to forgo income to furnish documents. Owaisi also criticized the Union government's move to demolish the Qadeemi Masjid in New Delhi as part of the Central Vista project, calling it an attack on cultural heritage.

हैदराबाद के सांसद असदुद्दीन ओवैसी ने कहा कि चुनावी रोल्स के स्पेशल इंटेंसिव रिवीजन (SIR) से खासकर गरीबों को काफी परेशानी हुई, उनकी दिहाड़ी का नुकसान हुआ। अधिकारियों ने पुष्टि की कि ड्राफ्ट रोल्स में कोई अवैध अप्रवासी नहीं मिला, जिससे बीजेपी और संघ परिवार के नेताओं के दावों का झूठ सामने आ गया। हजारों लोगों को सत्यापन से गुजरना पड़ा, जिससे दैनिक मजदूरी करने वालों को दस्तावेज जमा कराने के लिए अपनी कमाई छोड़नी पड़ी। ओवैसी ने सेंट्रल विस्टा प्रोजेक्ट के तहत नई दिल्ली में क़दीमी मस्जिद को गिराने के केंद्र सरकार के कदम की भी आलोचना की और इसे सांस्कृतिक विरासत पर हमला बताया।
