This significant reduction is attributed to stricter monitoring, satellite tracking, and the adoption of in-situ management equipment. Despite the decline, stubble burning remains a political issue, especially with the 2027 state elections approaching. The practice also contributes to severe respiratory health problems and road accidents due to smog.
