Times of India · environment

Forest officials in Erode successfully trapped two leopards in cages set up within the Hasanur forest area, part of the Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve. These traps were installed last week following persistent demands from local villagers who reported multiple attacks on their livestock. The captured leopards will undergo veterinary examination to assess their health and determine if they were involved in the recent incidents. This action comes after villagers staged protests demanding immediate measures to address the growing threat of leopard movement in the region.
