75-Year-Old Woman Regains Mobility After Complex Femur Surgery at KGMU
Times of India · health
A 75-year-old woman from Hardoi, previously bedridden for a month due to a fall, has regained mobility after undergoing complex reconstructive surgery at King George’s Medical University (KGMU) in Lucknow. Doctors replaced the damaged portion of her femur with a distal femoral megaprosthesis due to extensive damage and poor bone quality, which made conventional fixation difficult. The surgery, performed on October 29, allows for early mobilisation. This procedure was conducted entirely cashless under the Ayushman Bharat scheme, highlighting accessible advanced medical care.
