India head coach Gautam Gambhir has refused to blame the toss, dew, or a dropped catch for the team's six-wicket defeat against the West Indies in the second T20I. He stated that the team must take responsibility for failing to defend a total of 249 runs. West Indies successfully chased the target in 18.3 overs, with Shai Hope scoring an unbeaten 102 and Sherfane Rutherford making 84. Gambhir emphasized that the team needs to improve its ability to defend large totals, even in challenging conditions.
