Delhi Police has detained over 1,500 individuals across the national capital as a preventive measure ahead of a planned protest by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) at Jantar Mantar. CJP leaders, including founder Abhijeet Dipke, were detained upon arrival at the airport and moved to different locations. The protest aimed to demand the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over alleged irregularities. Police had denied permission for the demonstration due to safety and law and order concerns, also citing late application and non-compliance issues from previous events.
