Nigeria's first confirmed Ebola case is a diplomat's wife who recently holidayed in Uganda's capital, Kampala. The 42-year-old Ugandan national, based in Abuja, fell ill three days after returning to Nigeria on October 3. She spent two and a half weeks in Kampala and had a stopover in Ethiopia. Health officials have identified 44 contacts, who are now in isolation, and are working to prevent further spread. The patient is reportedly stable and improving, having initially sought treatment for suspected malaria.
