Chief Justice of India Surya Kant has declined a meeting request from Congress leaders Mallikarjun Kharge and Rahul Gandhi regarding the voters list controversy. The CJI stated that discussing pending cases would violate the separation of powers and judicial propriety, as the matter is already before the Supreme Court. He advised the leaders to pursue the issue through judicial proceedings, suggesting they file a petition. The Congress had sought the meeting to submit a memorandum concerning the Election Commission's functioning and alleged irregularities.
