Wall Street Economist David Zervos Joins US Treasury

Veteran Wall Street economist David Zervos has been appointed as a counsellor to US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent. Zervos, formerly the chief market strategist for Jeffries, will now serve in an advisory role. He brings extensive experience from his previous roles, including two appointments by the US Federal Reserve. Zervos joins the department amidst several staff departures, aiming to bolster its intellectual capacity during a period of economic challenges. He expressed enthusiasm for his return to government service.
