Fairfax to Invest Rs 53,000 Cr in IDBI

Fairfax Holdings has been finalized to acquire a significant stake in IDBI Bank, marking the largest foreign investment in an Indian lender. The deal is valued at approximately Rs 53,000 crore, with Fairfax offering Rs 81 per share. This strategic divestment by the government and LIC aims to strengthen the bank's capital base and improve its operational efficiency.

फेयरफैक्स होल्डिंग्स ने आईडीबीआई बैंक में बड़ी हिस्सेदारी खरीदने का फैसला कर लिया है। यह किसी भारतीय बैंक में सबसे बड़ा विदेशी निवेश होगा। इस डील की कीमत करीब 53,000 करोड़ रुपये है। फेयरफैक्स 81 रुपये प्रति शेयर की पेशकश कर रहा है। सरकार और एलआईसी की इस रणनीतिक बिक्री से बैंक की पूंजी मजबूत होगी और कामकाज बेहतर होगा।
