Supreme Court asks States to consider judicial retirement

The Supreme Court has directed all states and Union Territories to consider allowing judicial officers to continue in service until 61 years of age. This direction came on a plea seeking to raise the retirement age for district judiciary judges from 60 to 62 years nationwide.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने सभी राज्यों और केंद्र शासित प्रदेशों को कहा है कि वे न्यायिक अधिकारियों की सेवा आयु 61 साल तक बढ़ाने पर विचार करें। यह आदेश जिला न्यायपालिका के न्यायाधीशों की सेवानिवृत्ति आयु को राष्ट्रीय स्तर पर 60 से बढ़ाकर 62 साल करने की मांग वाली याचिका पर आया है।
