Sports Ministry Pledges INR 2000 Crore Grant For Gujarat's 2030 CWG Hosting

The Union Sports Ministry has committed INR 2000 crore to the Gujarat government to support the hosting of the 2030 Commonwealth Games in Ahmedabad. This grant, based on 2025 rates, is expected to reach approximately INR 2500 crore by 2030, adjusted for inflation. Funds will be disbursed from the Assistance to National Sports Federations scheme upon request. Ahmedabad secured the bid last year, beating Nigeria, and will host the centenary edition of the Games.

केंद्रीय खेल मंत्रालय ने अहमदाबाद में 2030 कॉमनवेल्थ गेम्स की मेज़बानी के लिए गुजरात सरकार को ₹2000 करोड़ देने का वादा किया है। यह ग्रांट 2025 की दरों पर आधारित है और महंगाई के हिसाब से 2030 तक लगभग ₹2500 करोड़ तक पहुँचने की उम्मीद है। यह पैसा नेशनल स्पोर्ट्स फेडरेशन स्कीम के तहत ज़रूरत पड़ने पर दिया जाएगा। पिछले साल अहमदाबाद ने नाइजीरिया को हराकर यह बोली जीती थी, और यह गेम्स का शताब्दी संस्करण होगा।
