Madras HC Seeks Tamil Nadu Govt Response

The Madras High Court has asked the Tamil Nadu government and Tasmac to respond within two weeks to a petition challenging a Rs 1,000 crore tender. The tender is for installing and operating reverse vending machines to collect empty liquor bottles across the state. The petitioner argues that appointing a single agency for seven years will negatively impact over 500 existing traders involved in bottle collection. The court has admitted the plea and adjourned the hearing.

मद्रास हाईकोर्ट ने तमिलनाडु सरकार और Tasmac से कहा है कि वे ₹1,000 करोड़ की एक टेंडर को चुनौती देने वाली याचिका पर दो हफ़्ते के अंदर जवाब दें। यह टेंडर पूरे राज्य में शराब की खाली बोतलें इकट्ठा करने के लिए रिवर्स वेंडिंग मशीनें लगाने और चलाने के लिए है। याचिकाकर्ता का कहना है कि सात साल के लिए एक ही एजेंसी को नियुक्त करने से बोतलें इकट्ठा करने वाले 500 से ज़्यादा मौजूदा व्यापारियों पर बुरा असर पड़ेगा। कोर्ट ने याचिका स्वीकार कर ली है और सुनवाई टाल दी है।
