Delhi High Court Cancels Order To Disclose PM's Foreign Travel Details

The Delhi High Court has overturned a CIC order that directed the Indian Air Force to reveal detailed records of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and former PM Manmohan Singh's foreign trips under the RTI Act. The court cited national security concerns and the potential threat to the Prime Minister's physical safety as reasons for its decision. Justice Amit Mahajan stated that assessing such risks falls under the purview of security agencies, not courts or the CIC.

दिल्ली हाई कोर्ट ने CIC के उस आदेश को पलट दिया है जिसमें भारतीय वायु सेना को RTI एक्ट के तहत प्रधानमंत्री नरेंद्र मोदी और पूर्व पीएम मनमोहन सिंह की विदेशी यात्राओं का विस्तृत रिकॉर्ड बताने का निर्देश दिया गया था। कोर्ट ने राष्ट्रीय सुरक्षा चिंताओं और प्रधानमंत्री की शारीरिक सुरक्षा को संभावित खतरे को इसके कारणों के तौर पर बताया। जस्टिस अमित महाजन ने कहा कि ऐसे जोखिमों का आकलन सुरक्षा एजेंसियों के दायरे में आता है, न कि अदालतों या CIC के।
