Azamgarh Voter List Irregularities: 5 BLOs, 9 Suspended After SP Alleges 'Vikas Yadav' Listed 13

Following allegations by the Samajwadi Party that the name 'Vikas Yadav' appeared 13 times in Azamgarh's voter list, an inquiry by the Election Commission has revealed serious irregularities. The Chief Electoral Officer has ordered action against erring officials. A computer assistant and five Booth Level Officers (BLOs) have been suspended and issued notices for their role in the voter list preparation. Departmental action has also been initiated against the then Electoral Registration Officer and two Assistant Electoral Registration Officers for negligence.

समाजवादी पार्टी के इस आरोप के बाद कि आजमगढ़ की मतदाता सूची में 'विकास यादव' नाम 13 बार दिखाई दिया, चुनाव आयोग की जांच में गंभीर अनियमितताएं सामने आई हैं। मुख्य निर्वाचन अधिकारी ने दोषी अधिकारियों के खिलाफ कार्रवाई का आदेश दिया है। मतदाता सूची तैयार करने में उनकी भूमिका के लिए एक कंप्यूटर सहायक और पांच बूथ लेवल ऑफिसर (बीएलओ) को निलंबित कर दिया गया है और नोटिस जारी किया गया है। लापरवाही के लिए तत्कालीन निर्वाचक पंजीकरण अधिकारी और दो सहायक निर्वाचक पंजीकरण अधिकारियों के खिलाफ विभागीय कार्रवाई भी शुरू की गई है।
