Local BJP Leader Surrenders in Qatar Cultural Centre Burglary Case

A local Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader, Parappil Balakrishnan, has surrendered to Kozhikode police in connection with a major burglary at the Qatar Kerala Muslim Cultural Centre (KMCC) office in Qatar. The incident, which occurred on September 18, 2025, involved the theft of approximately ₹8 crore in cash, equivalent to 31 lakh Qatari Riyals. Balakrishnan, who had previously contested local body elections as a BJP candidate, is accused of assisting in the heist. The police have identified five other individuals as co-accused in the case, with investigations ongoing.

स्थानीय भारतीय जनता पार्टी (भाजपा) के नेता, परप्पिल बालकृष्णन ने कतर में कतर केरल मुस्लिम कल्चरल सेंटर (KMCC) के कार्यालय में हुई एक बड़ी चोरी के संबंध में कोझिकोड पुलिस के सामने आत्मसमर्पण कर दिया है। 18 सितंबर, 2025 को हुई इस घटना में लगभग 8 करोड़ रुपये नकद, जो 31 लाख कतरी रियाल के बराबर थे, की चोरी हुई थी। बालकृष्णन, जिन्होंने पहले भाजपा उम्मीदवार के तौर पर स्थानीय निकाय चुनाव लड़ा था, पर इस डकैती में सहायता करने का आरोप है। पुलिस ने मामले में पांच अन्य लोगों को सह-अभियुक्त के रूप में पहचाना है, और जांच जारी है।
