Goldman Sachs Raises Oil Price Forecasts, Warns Brent Could Hit $140 in 2027

Goldman Sachs has increased its oil price forecasts, citing elevated risks to global supplies. The investment bank raised its December forecast for Brent crude to $105 a barrel from $90 and its US WTI crude forecast to $94 from $81. In an upside scenario, Brent crude could surge to $140 a barrel in 2027 if Gulf oil production falls significantly below its 2025 average. The bank expects markets to price in higher geopolitical risk premiums due to potential Middle East supply disruptions and difficulties in achieving diplomatic breakthroughs.
