Hindustan Times · india

Delhi has completed two new water treatment plants, costing a total of ₹850 crore, but they cannot operate at full capacity due to a lack of raw water. The Dwarka plant, built for 50 MGD at ₹280 crore, and the Chandrawal plant, built for 105 MGD at ₹599 crore, are ready but face shortages. The Chandrawal plant is currently diverting water from an older facility. The Delhi Jal Board is exploring options like tubewell installations and water exchange with Haryana to secure additional raw water for these new plants.
