Jury Urges Academy to Screen Withheld Competition Films

Former jury members of the International Documentary and Short Film Festival of Keralam (IDSFFK) have urged the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy to allow them to watch five competition films. These films were denied censor exemption by the Union Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, preventing public screenings. The jury argues that the ministry's denial does not extend to private screenings for them. Filmmakers whose films are withheld are reportedly planning to boycott the awards ceremony, potentially damaging the festival's reputation.
