Temple Removal Stalls NH Service Road Work Near Periyanaickenpalayam Flyover

Work on the National Highway service road near the Periyanaickenpalayam flyover in Coimbatore remains stalled due to a Mariamman temple that has not yet been removed. Despite the Madras high court dismissing a petition challenging the temple's removal, law-and-order concerns have prevented its demolition. The highways department has coordinated with police and revenue officials multiple times to clear the temple, which obstructs the widening of the service road on NH-181. Efforts are underway to remove the encroachment and complete the project at the earliest.
