Delhi Jal Board to Replace 733km of Old Water Pipelines Under ₹6,044-Crore South Delhi Revamp

The Delhi Jal Board (DJB) is launching a significant three-year, ₹6,044-crore project to overhaul South Delhi's water distribution network. This initiative will involve replacing over 732 km of old pipelines and laying 606 km of new lines to ensure round-the-clock water supply. The project aims to benefit approximately 25 lakh people across 12 assembly constituencies, addressing issues of acute water shortages and contamination. Advanced smart meters will be installed for all 3,89,892 connections, enabling billing based on actual consumption and leak detection.

दिल्ली जल बोर्ड (DJB) दक्षिण दिल्ली के जल वितरण नेटवर्क को बेहतर बनाने के लिए एक महत्वपूर्ण तीन साल की, ₹6,044 करोड़ की परियोजना शुरू कर रहा है। इस पहल में 24 घंटे पानी की आपूर्ति सुनिश्चित करने के लिए 732 किमी से अधिक पुरानी पाइपलाइनों को बदलना और 606 किमी नई लाइनें बिछाना शामिल होगा। इस परियोजना का उद्देश्य 12 विधानसभा क्षेत्रों में लगभग 25 लाख लोगों को लाभ पहुंचाना है, जिससे पानी की गंभीर कमी और संदूषण के मुद्दों का समाधान हो सके। सभी 3,89,892 कनेक्शनों के लिए उन्नत स्मार्ट मीटर लगाए जाएंगे, जिससे वास्तविक खपत और रिसाव का पता लगाने के आधार पर बिलिंग संभव हो सकेगी।
