In Bihuani Kalan village, Hamirpur, Uttar Pradesh, a unique tradition honours a 9-headed, 10-armed Ravana. Villagers believe Ravana was a great scholar and that burning his effigy would be disrespectful to scriptures. A nearly 1,000-year-old statue of Ravana, about ten feet tall and in a seated posture, is worshipped annually during Dussehra. Instead of burning, the statue is adorned, and devotees offer coconuts. This practice celebrates the victory of truth while respecting Ravana's knowledge, contrasting with the usual effigy burning.
