Times of India · india

The Kerala High Court has suggested that two or three local bodies could share a common shelter for stray dogs due to land availability issues. A bench made this suggestion while hearing a suo motu petition concerning the stray dog issue. The court also directed local bodies to quell public opposition to shelters and comply with Supreme Court directions, warning of contempt proceedings for non-compliance. Concerns were also raised about stray dogs not being released after animal birth control procedures, which the court noted violates Supreme Court guidelines.
