Two Cops Among Five Held For Fake Currency Racket in Meerut

Two police constables have been arrested along with three others for allegedly running a fake currency racket in Meerut's Bhawanpur area. The accused lured victims with promises of tripling their money using counterfeit notes and then staged police raids to conceal the fraud. The racket came to light after a complaint from a local resident who was defrauded of Rs 50,000. Police seized bundles of fake currency and genuine cash from the accused. The constables have been suspended and a departmental inquiry ordered.

मेरठ के भवनपुर इलाके में नकली नोटों का रैकेट चलाने के आरोप में तीन अन्य लोगों के साथ दो पुलिस कांस्टेबल को गिरफ्तार किया गया है। आरोपी नकली नोटों से पैसे तीन गुना करने का लालच देकर पीड़ितों को फंसाते थे और फिर धोखाधड़ी छिपाने के लिए पुलिस छापे का नाटक करते थे। एक स्थानीय निवासी द्वारा 50,000 रुपये की धोखाधड़ी की शिकायत के बाद रैकेट का खुलासा हुआ। पुलिस ने आरोपियों के पास से नकली करेंसी के बंडल और असली नकदी जब्त की है। कांस्टेबल को निलंबित कर दिया गया है और विभागीय जांच का आदेश दिया गया है।
