ISRO Successfully Launches NVS-03 Satellite, Boosting NavIC Navigation System
Mint · science
ISRO has successfully launched its third next-generation navigation satellite, NVS-03, aboard the GSLV-F18 rocket. The satellite has been placed into its intended Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit, restoring the NavIC constellation to its minimum operational configuration of four satellites. NVS-03 enhances India's indigenous satellite navigation system, NavIC, an alternative to GPS, with improved capabilities including L1 signal support for modern chipsets. This launch strengthens India's self-reliance in critical technologies and ensures independent access to vital positioning, navigation, and timing services.
