Mizoram State University to be Functional by 2028, Minister Confirms

Mizoram State University is anticipated to become operational by 2028, according to state Higher and Technical Education Minister Vanlalthlana. The university, initially planned for Aizawl, was relocated to Lunglei, with the Bill passed again in February. The government is actively appointing a vice-chancellor and registrar, and has created 71 posts, with 21 approved for immediate filling. Efforts are underway to secure a rented building in Lunglei to expedite the university's operationalization. Concurrently, technical education infrastructure is being expanded, with new courses approved for Mizoram Engineering College.
