Rwandan Dissident and Ex-Army Officer Found Beheaded in Uganda

A Rwandan dissident and former army officer, Sergeant Major Robert Kabera, was discovered beheaded in a bush in Uganda's Mpigi district. Kabera had fled Rwanda to Uganda in 2020, citing persecution and operating a popular YouTube channel critical of the Rwandan government. Police are investigating the killing, with his head still missing and no clear motive established. Kabera's past military service and alleged "unlawful sexual contact" allegations are being considered by investigators. Rwandan authorities have not yet commented on the incident.
