California is set to open 2,060 acres of coastal land near the Diablo Canyon nuclear power plant as a nature preserve. A $42 million conservation deal will allow The Wildlands Conservancy to acquire the property, known as Wild Cherry Canyon. The land will feature hiking trails and campsites, with plans to protect Native American cultural sites. This scenic area, previously a buffer zone, will become accessible to the public within five years.
