Delhi Court Extends Custody of CJP Activists by Two Days

India Today · politics

A Delhi court has extended the judicial custody of Cockroach Janta Party activists Ashutosh Ranka and Saurav Das by two days. They were initially detained on October 13 for allegedly breaching a peace bond at Jantar Mantar and unfurling the national flag. The police sought a five-day extension, citing public order concerns during the festival season. Activists' lawyers questioned the extension, arguing preventive detention without an FIR and arbitrary rejection of sureties, and plan to challenge the order.
