India-US Trade Deal Talks Reach Difficult Stage, Finance Minister Says

India's Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman stated that ongoing trade deal negotiations with the United States have reached a difficult point. She indicated that achieving further concessions or gains for either side would be extremely challenging. While the talks are not concluded, Sitharaman noted that both nations could work on any remaining scope for progress. US Trade Representative Jamieson Greer also previously suggested that a deal is not expected soon. Negotiations between India and the US began in February 2025, aiming to strengthen economic ties and resolve market access issues.

भारत की वित्त मंत्री निर्मला सीतारमण ने कहा कि अमेरिका के साथ व्यापार डील की बातचीत एक मुश्किल दौर में पहुँच गई है। उन्होंने बताया कि दोनों पक्षों के लिए आगे और छूट या फायदे हासिल करना बहुत मुश्किल होगा। हालाँकि बातचीत खत्म नहीं हुई है, सीतारमण ने कहा कि दोनों देश बची हुई गुंजाइश पर काम कर सकते हैं। US Trade Representative जैमिसन ग्रीर ने भी पहले कहा था कि डील जल्द होने की उम्मीद नहीं है। भारत और अमेरिका के बीच बातचीत फरवरी 2025 में शुरू हुई थी, जिसका मकसद आर्थिक संबंधों को मजबूत करना और बाज़ार पहुँच के मुद्दों को सुलझाना था।
