AMD has announced a definitive agreement to acquire World Labs, an AI research lab led by Fei-Fei Li, for approximately $8.2 billion in an all-stock transaction. This acquisition aims to strengthen AMD's AI hardware and software development capabilities by integrating World Labs' world-class researchers and model experts. Following the deal's expected close by the end of 2026, Fei-Fei Li will join AMD as executive vice president and chief scientist.
