Retired Army Jawan Held in Assam for Passing Defence Movement Info to Pakistan

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced the arrest of two individuals, including a retired Army jawan working on contract, for allegedly sharing defence movement information with Pakistan. The arrests were made based on intelligence from central agencies. Initial reports suggest the accused may have been honey-trapped. One arrested individual, Abhishek Kumar Singh from Bihar, was apprehended in Guwahati after intelligence from the Military Intelligence unit. Police recovered a mobile phone, SIM cards, and documents from his possession during the operation.

असम के मुख्यमंत्री हिमंता बिस्वा सरमा ने बताया कि दो लोगों को गिरफ्तार किया गया है, जिनमें एक कॉन्ट्रैक्ट पर काम करने वाला रिटायर्ड आर्मी जवान भी शामिल है। इन पर पाकिस्तान को रक्षा संबंधी जानकारी देने का आरोप है। यह गिरफ्तारी केंद्रीय एजेंसियों से मिली खुफिया जानकारी के आधार पर हुई है। शुरुआती रिपोर्टों के अनुसार, आरोपियों को हनी-ट्रैप किया गया हो सकता है। बिहार के रहने वाले अभिषेक कुमार सिंह नाम के एक आरोपी को गुवाहाटी से गिरफ्तार किया गया। यह गिरफ्तारी मिलिट्री इंटेलिजेंस यूनिट से मिली खुफिया जानकारी के बाद हुई। पुलिस ने तलाशी के दौरान उसके पास से एक मोबाइल फोन, सिम कार्ड और कुछ दस्तावेज़ बरामद किए हैं।
