NCERT Adds Entrepreneurship Chapter Featuring Lijjat Papad and Oberoi Stories

NCERT has introduced a new chapter on entrepreneurship for its 9th-grade Social Science syllabus, aiming to equip students with business acumen and risk-taking abilities from a young age. The chapter uses real-life success stories, including the journey of Lijjat Papad, which began with seven women borrowing ₹80 in 1959, and Mohan Singh Oberoi's rise in the hotel industry. It also highlights India's startup boom, noting the growth from around 400 startups a decade ago to 2.3 lakh today, making India the world's third-largest startup ecosystem.

NCERT ने 9वीं कक्षा के सामाजिक विज्ञान के सिलेबस में उद्यमिता पर एक नया अध्याय जोड़ा है। इसका मकसद है कि छात्रों को कम उम्र से ही व्यापार की समझ और जोखिम लेने की क्षमता से लैस किया जाए। इस अध्याय में असल जिंदगी की सफलता की कहानियों का इस्तेमाल किया गया है, जिसमें लिज्जत पापड़ की यात्रा भी शामिल है, जिसकी शुरुआत 1959 में सात महिलाओं द्वारा 80 रुपये उधार लेकर हुई थी, और होटल इंडस्ट्री में मोहन सिंह ओबेरॉय का उदय भी।
