Political Parties' Stance Shifts Between Power and Opposition

Indian political parties frequently alter their stances on key issues depending on whether they are in power or in opposition. For instance, the Congress party, when in government, single-handedly appointed Election Commissioners and dismissed demands to include the Chief Justice in the selection process. However, now in opposition, Congress protests the exclusion of the Chief Justice from these appointments, deeming it a threat to democracy. A similar pattern is observed with the BJP, which opposed GST and Aadhaar when in opposition, but now supports them while in power.
