SEBI to Partially Reverse Derivative Settlement Rules After Broker Pushback

The Hindu - Business · business

India's markets regulator, SEBI, is set to partially reverse its new derivative settlement rules following significant pushback. Introduced in August, the CAS mechanism for stocks with futures and options contracts has caused sharp swings in derivative prices. SEBI received approximately 20,000 suggestions to modify the rules. Instead of CAS, the volume-weighted average price of the last 30 minutes of trading will now determine derivative pricing for at least a year. For less liquid stocks, a closing auction will still be used for end-of-day pricing.
