IIT Student's Grandmother Seeks CBI Probe

The grandmother of Sahil Wakode, a 22-year-old IIT Bombay student found dead, has requested a CBI inquiry into his death. She described Sahil as a bright student with aspirations to emulate APJ Abdul Kalam, expressing disbelief that he would commit suicide. Sahil, a second-year BTech student, was found hanging in his hostel room. His family alleges caste discrimination and institutional harassment, while IIT Bombay stated no disciplinary action was initiated before his death.
