Muvattupuzha Municipality to Transform Idle Urban Haat into Food Street

Muvattupuzha municipality is set to repurpose the long-idle Urban Haat facility into a vibrant food street as part of its Future Muvattupuzha project. The building, constructed with Kudumbashree and municipal funds and inaugurated in October 2015, never operated effectively. After years of being shut, the municipality plans to renovate the space, including creating a new entrance and expanding rooms. This initiative aims to boost local commerce, generate employment, and increase municipal revenue by attracting visitors from beyond the city.

मट्टूपुझा नगरपालिका अपने फ़्यूचर मट्टूपुझा प्रोजेक्ट के तहत लंबे समय से बंद पड़े अर्बन हाट को एक जीवंत फ़ूड स्ट्रीट में बदलने जा रही है। कुडुम्बश्री और नगरपालिका के पैसों से बना यह भवन अक्टूबर 2015 में खुला था, लेकिन ठीक से कभी चला नहीं। सालों तक बंद रहने के बाद, नगरपालिका अब इस जगह को नया रूप देने की योजना बना रही है, जिसमें नया प्रवेश द्वार बनाना और कमरे बढ़ाना शामिल है। इस पहल का मकसद शहर के बाहर से भी लोगों को आकर्षित करके स्थानीय व्यापार को बढ़ावा देना, रोज़गार पैदा करना और नगरपालिका की आमदनी बढ़ाना है।
