Goa Tourism Dept Invites Adoptions For Beach Stray Dogs

Goa's tourism department is seeking citizens and animal welfare groups to adopt stray dogs from beaches within seven days. This initiative aims to manage the stray dog population before a relocation process begins. Unadopted dogs will be sterilized, vaccinated, and moved to authorized shelters. The move follows concerns over dog attacks and road accidents, with Goa recording over 37,000 dog-bite cases between 2022 and 2025. The department will follow Supreme Court directions for humane treatment and adhere to animal welfare guidelines during capture and relocation.

गोवा का पर्यटन विभाग नागरिकों और पशु कल्याण समूहों से सात दिनों के अंदर समुद्र तटों पर घूम रहे आवारा कुत्तों को गोद लेने की अपील कर रहा है। इस पहल का मकसद कुत्तों को कहीं और भेजने की प्रक्रिया शुरू होने से पहले उनकी आबादी को नियंत्रित करना है। गोद न लिए गए कुत्तों का टीकाकरण और नसबंदी की जाएगी और उन्हें अधिकृत आश्रयों में भेजा जाएगा। यह कदम कुत्तों के हमलों और सड़क दुर्घटनाओं को लेकर चिंता के बाद उठाया गया है, गोवा में 2022 और 2025 के बीच 37,000 से अधिक कुत्तों के काटने के मामले दर्ज किए गए हैं।
