India Ranks Low in Integrating Health Into Climate Plans, Analysis Finds
Hindustan Times · environment
A new global assessment ahead of COP31 has ranked India and Japan among the lowest performers in integrating health into their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs), scoring just two out of 32 points. The 2026 Healthy NDC Scorecard by the Global Climate and Health Alliance evaluated 117 national climate plans. India's climate commitment does not meaningfully address health impacts or co-benefits, and fails to mention air pollutants despite the country's high air-pollution death rate.
Global Climate and Health Alliance
