Kalamassery Council to Protest Gas Connection Delays

The Kalamassery municipal council has unanimously decided to protest against Indian Oil-Adani Gas Pvt Ltd (IOAGL) due to significant delays in providing domestic gas connections. Despite collecting advance payments from consumers, many have waited years without receiving connections. Municipal chairperson Jamal Manakkadan stated that the council might halt the project's operations within the municipality if pending issues are not resolved promptly. He also noted that some consumers with existing connections are not receiving regular bills, leading to accumulated charges.

कलामस्सेरी नगर पालिका परिषद ने इंडियन ऑयल-अदानी गैस प्राइवेट लिमिटेड (IOAGL) द्वारा घरेलू गैस कनेक्शन देने में हो रही भारी देरी के खिलाफ सर्वसम्मति से विरोध करने का फैसला किया है। उपभोक्ताओं से एडवांस पेमेंट लेने के बावजूद, कई सालों से कनेक्शन का इंतजार कर रहे हैं। नगर पालिका की अध्यक्ष जमाल मनाक्कडन ने कहा कि अगर लंबित मुद्दों का तुरंत समाधान नहीं हुआ तो परिषद नगरपालिका के भीतर परियोजना के संचालन को रोक सकती है। उन्होंने यह भी बताया कि कुछ उपभोक्ताओं को जिनके कनेक्शन पहले से चालू हैं, उन्हें नियमित बिल नहीं मिल रहे हैं, जिससे भारी शुल्क जमा हो गया है।
