Goa CM Urges Cooperation for Mining Revival, Promises Rate Revisions

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has appealed for cooperation in reviving the mining industry, urging residents and panchayats to avoid unnecessary opposition. The state government is developing a framework to set clear rates for compensation, surface rights, land rights, and transportation to bring clarity to the sector. Full-fledged mining activity is anticipated to begin by December, creating employment opportunities. Sawant directed officials to expedite approvals for pending mining blocks and instructed leaseholders to prioritize local workers and machinery for sustainable mining practices.

गोवा के मुख्यमंत्री प्रमोद सावंत ने खनन उद्योग को फिर से शुरू करने के लिए सहयोग की अपील की है, और निवासियों और पंचायतों से अनावश्यक विरोध से बचने का आग्रह किया है। राज्य सरकार इस क्षेत्र में स्पष्टता लाने के लिए मुआवजा, सतह अधिकार, भूमि अधिकार और परिवहन के लिए स्पष्ट दरें निर्धारित करने के लिए एक ढांचा विकसित कर रही है। दिसंबर तक पूर्ण पैमाने पर खनन गतिविधि शुरू होने की उम्मीद है, जिससे रोजगार के अवसर पैदा होंगे। सावंत ने अधिकारियों को लंबित खनन ब्लॉकों के लिए मंजूरी में तेजी लाने का निर्देश दिया और पट्टेदारों को स्थायी खनन प्रथाओं के लिए स्थानीय श्रमिकों और मशीनरी को प्राथमिकता देने का निर्देश दिया।
