Supreme Court Grants Bail To Former RG Kar Principal Sandip Ghosh

The Supreme Court has granted bail to Sandip Ghosh, former principal of RG Kar Medical College, who has been in custody for over two years. A bench noted that only seven out of 147 witnesses have been examined in the CBI trial court. Ghosh was arrested in connection with alleged large-scale corruption, including financial irregularities and manipulating merit scores to accommodate undeserving candidates. The apex court's decision to set aside the Calcutta High Court's order comes after Ghosh's bail plea was previously denied.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने आरजी कर मेडिकल कॉलेज के पूर्व प्रिंसिपल संदीप घोष को जमानत दे दी है, जो दो साल से ज़्यादा समय से हिरासत में थे। एक बेंच ने कहा कि सीबीआई ट्रायल कोर्ट में 147 गवाहों में से केवल सात से ही पूछताछ हुई है। घोष को बड़े पैमाने पर भ्रष्टाचार के आरोप में गिरफ्तार किया गया था, जिसमें वित्तीय अनियमितताएं और अयोग्य उम्मीदवारों को समायोजित करने के लिए मेरिट स्कोर में हेरफेर शामिल था। कलकत्ता हाई कोर्ट के आदेश को रद्द करने के सुप्रीम कोर्ट के फैसले से पहले घोष की जमानत याचिका खारिज कर दी गई थी।
