SC Refuses Relief to Ex-Minister Nehru in Cash-for-Jobs Scam Case

The Supreme Court has declined to intervene in a Madras High Court order allowing the DVAC to register an FIR and investigate former DMK Minister K.N. Nehru in a multi-crore cash-for-jobs scam. A bench stated a thorough investigation is necessary given Nehru's ministerial role during alleged recruitment irregularities. The court noted that Nehru can raise all defence points in future proceedings. The Directorate of Enforcement had previously shared a dossier with Tamil Nadu Police regarding alleged manipulation of government tenders and illegal gratification in recruitment processes.

सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने मद्रास हाई कोर्ट के उस आदेश में दखल देने से मना कर दिया है, जिसमें पूर्व DMK मंत्री K.N. Nehru को करोड़ों के कैश-फॉर-जॉब्स घोटाले में FIR दर्ज करने और जांच करने की अनुमति दी गई थी। एक बेंच ने कहा कि मंत्री के पद पर रहते हुए कथित भर्ती अनियमितताओं को देखते हुए गहन जांच जरूरी है। कोर्ट ने कहा कि Nehru भविष्य की कार्यवाही में अपने बचाव के सभी बिंदु उठा सकते हैं। Directorate of Enforcement ने पहले Tamil Nadu Police के साथ सरकारी टेंडरों में हेरफेर और भर्ती प्रक्रियाओं में अवैध रिश्वतखोरी के आरोपों को लेकर एक डोजियर साझा किया था।
