Bangladesh Seeks UN Aid for Rohingya Refugees

Bangladesh Prime Minister Tarique Rahman has urged the UN General Assembly to continue humanitarian support for over 1.2 million Rohingya refugees from Myanmar. He stated that Bangladesh has been sheltering them for nine years, placing immense strain on its resources and security. Rahman emphasized that the solution lies in their safe return to Myanmar, warning that failure to ensure justice could deepen the crisis. The UN notes that conditions in Myanmar's Rakhine state are not yet suitable for sustainable returns, highlighting the need for ongoing international assistance.

बांग्लादेश की प्रधानमंत्री तमीम इकबाल ने संयुक्त राष्ट्र महासभा से म्यांमार के 12 लाख से ज़्यादा रोहिंग्या शरणार्थियों के लिए मानवीय सहायता जारी रखने की अपील की है। उन्होंने कहा कि बांग्लादेश नौ साल से उन्हें पनाह दे रहा है, जिससे उसके संसाधनों और सुरक्षा पर भारी दबाव पड़ा है। इकबाल ने ज़ोर देकर कहा कि इसका हल म्यांमार में उनकी सुरक्षित वापसी में है, और न्याय सुनिश्चित न करने पर संकट गहरा सकता है। संयुक्त राष्ट्र का कहना है कि म्यांमार के रखाइन राज्य में हालात अभी वापसी के लिए ठीक नहीं हैं, इसलिए अंतरराष्ट्रीय मदद ज़रूरी है।
