Uttar Pradesh Freezes 34% of Cyber Fraud Money in September, Exceeding National Average

Hindustan Times · india

Uttar Pradesh successfully froze 34% of funds involved in reported cyber frauds during September, surpassing the national average of 31%. This achievement is attributed to the state's Cyber Fraud Mitigation Centre (CFMC) and its technology-driven interventions, which enable real-time tracing and freezing of defrauded money. The government has shifted focus to immediate fund recovery, with prompt reporting significantly increasing the chances of recovering up to 100% of lost amounts. Beyond financial recovery, UP has also conducted extensive cyber-awareness drives across various platforms to educate citizens on preventing cybercrime.
